This chapel was built upon the initiative of a local priest, Reverend Ivan Levak, a native of the region. He purchased the private ground, donated it to the parish, and in 2012 ordered the construction of the Chapel of St. Catherine the Virgin and Martyr in Jakšinec. The chapel was built following the classic form by engineer Vladimir Breber from Donja Stubica, according to the plans of engineer Juraj Juras. Its dimensions are je 9 x 5 m, while the tower is 12 m high.
